Who Am I

Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday. And what an honor it was for me to work with our youth at church on a Easter Service Creative Praise Program. Since December, this is what we've been working on. I saw this video on youtube last year and have come back to it numerous times, inspired, and completely humbled. In December I asked my pastors about doing this with our kids at church. It took me probably 2 weeks to choreograph it off of youtube, figure out how many hands were in each sequence, etc. But the end result? God was glorified as the kids performed it during Easter Sunday worship service. Our church was full and everyone was stand still quiet during the performance. At first, I was kinda surprised by the response and thought people maybe didn't like it. But when the lights came on at the end, as I looked around, many were in tears and looked just speechless. Praise God!! I'm so proud of each of the kids. They did awesome, and yet, there was no boasting. They had a message so share, and that they did.

This is the same performance the kids did. The song is Who Am I, by the Casting Crowns.

Heart Strangely Warmed

Sometimes it's a deep theological truth, or an encounter with the Supernatural that does it. Other times, it is simply the words of a child.

Today during our time of reading together, Kylie quite suddenly looked up at me and said, "Mom, I really like the way God made you. Because I think you're pretty."

Tears in my eyes.... big hugs....and reassurance that I am indeed happy with the way God made her, too. I'm not sure where that came from today.....held against the standard of this world and it's culture, I'm so far from anything resembling pretty. But my heart was warmed to think that my 7 yr. old sees something pretty in me....and EVEN MORE SO to think that she knows where the value and worth in each one of us comes from. God.

Life on the Vine

This is from a women's retreat weekend I recently attended. It was an honor to put together this slideshow of weekend....
